Senator suspects Paulson sending TARP funds to his friends

Senator Jim Inhofe (R. OK) said Saturday that “It is just outrageous that the American people don’t know that Congress doesn’t know how much money he (Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson) has given away to anyone,” in a statement to the Tulsa World. “It could be to his friends. It could be to anybody else. We don’t know. There is no way of knowing.” Senator Inhofe suggested that Congress was not told the truth about the bailout of the nation’s financial system and should take back what is left of the $700 billion “blank check” it gave the Bush administration. See the article here.

Senator Inhofe has not ordered our video, The Nafta Conspiracy, How the Globalists Loot Nations, but he has managed on his own to figure out that Paulson is using our Treasury funds to send money to his friends. NWOU is delighted that one senator has nearly stumbled upon the truth of the purposeful looting of our nation by the global elite. Meanwhile, the Democrats in the Senate remained quiet about Inhofe’s comments. Does this mean they are clueless? No, it means they are in on it.

Over the weekend the leaders of the G20 nations promised to cooperate with the new global order and to betray the interests of their nations. President Bush issued one of his most misleading statements, saying “History has shown that the great threat to economic prosperity is not too little government involvement in the market. It is too much government involvement in the market. … And the surest path to…growth is free markets and free people. Capitalism is not perfect. But it is by far the most efficient and just way of structuring an economy. Capitalism offers people the freedom to choose where they work and what they do, the opportunity to buy or sell products they want and the dignity that comes form profiting from their talent and hard work…. The record is unmistakable: if you seek economic growth, social justice and human dignity, the free market system is the way to go.”

But free trade agreements do not create a free market, and they have nothing to do with “social justice” or human dignity. Global free trade agreements are how multinational corporations exploit cheap labor for their increased profit. These agreements create a global superstructure that prevents any government from legislating policies that address worker rights, environmental protection, or quality standards. Governments cannot prevent poisoned goods from entering their countries, thus they cannot protect public health under free trade agreements. When large corporations are allowed to enter countries under free trade agreements, they undercut small businesses and drive competitors out of business through cutthroat pricing, mergers and acquisitions, and government subsidies. This is not free market capitalism, it is global monopoly capitalism.

As the G20 leaders were making vague promises to cooperate with the global economic order and betray their countries, Communist China wasn’t making the same error. China announced last week its own economic stimulus and indicated that it would look out for China’s interest first. Why is this such a difficult concept for other national leaders? Actually there should be a turn away from globalism under the present crisis. Nations should be scrambling to preserve their important industries from the destabilizing forces of monopoly capital invading their markets and undercutting the price structure of their leading producers while they still have industries to save. So, what is the attraction of globalism for the national leaders of the G20 nations? For those who are outright crooks, the attraction is the opportunity for their governments to take over, restructure, and then sell national assets to their friends. Those who are relatively honest may genuinely believe that there is some advantage to amassing a global bailout fund, coordinate fiscal policies, and hand over more power to the IMF to extend credit to failing nations or companies. But the only reason they might believe this is because they are unaware of how IMF loans have hurt emerging economies in the past, and set them up to be looted. NWOU looks forward to more sudden awakenings from our national leaders and the TV pundits who still believe that Treasury Secretary Paulson, President Bush, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid were acting out of genuine concern for the nation’s economy and people when they proposed and approved the TARP bailout package.
