African farmers organize against “free trade” oligopolies

Posted By on February 12, 2009

After decades suffering from dumping of agricultural products by Big Agriculture, African farmers have organized against World Trade Organization and International Monetary Fund policies that impoverish them. Their website is at ROPPA.info.

Free trade is protectionism for the rich.

If you still worry about free trade versus protectionism, an analysis of world food markets by Jacques Bertholet at this site will help you unwind your confusion. The free market theory falls apart under close analysis of Big Agriculture in the developed countries, subsidized by your taxpayer dollars. Bertholet explains why you should boycott Monsanto, Cargill, Bunge, Nestle, ADM, and other globalist food behemoths. As their oligopoly drives local farmers out of business, it becomes increasingly difficult to patronize small producers. Now Africa is fighting back. Which side are you on, global monopoly or local autonomy?

Australian fires are another environmentalist crime

General reporting on the Australian wildfires at AP/Google, BBC News, Yahoo News, and the Australian Herald-Sun. The liberal press finds the proximate causes in arson, global warming, drought, and hot weather.

The real crime is environmentalism. See “Green Ideas Must Take Blame for Deaths” at the Brisbane Times and “Angry Survivors Blame Council Green Policy” at The Age. Though not at the level of millions of deaths from malaria caused by the banning of DDT, add hundreds of deaths in Australia to the Environmentalist Death Toll. Don’t let your government go Green. Your life may depend on it.

Monitoring your energy use

15213231.jpgSkyNews reports that local councils in Britain have authorized mobile spies to take thermal images of houses to monitor heat loss. The homeowners are then required to install insulation. This is justified as a carbon control environmental scheme.

Mobile energy police already exist in the Bay Area. On nights when fireplace fires are prohibited, the mobile police drive around neighborhoods to monitor chimneys and issue tickets to violators.
