We expect the European Union to break up, but not this year. Ukraine is refusing to pass Russian natural gas through Ukraine to Europe. High energy costs are crippling European industries; many plants are closing, and workers are being laid off. There is no path to economic growth for Europe. The nations are abandoning the free trade model that brought them wealth in favor of tariffs and protectionism. Europe threw money down the Ukraine war rathole, imported aliens, and ran a big welfare state. Now the debt is a problem as many countries want to increase military spending. Resulting tax hikes will alienate voters and lead to election losses for the socialists. There is an election in February in Germany, and AfD is a leading party in the polls, with 21 percent support. It has been sickening to watch Joe Biden loot the U.S. Treasury. He is leaving Trump with a debt crisis that is going to ruin the economy with recession, higher inflation, a falling stock market, and perhaps a crashing bond market as fewer buyers appear to take U.S. debt.
