Nonideological anarchy

The late Karl Hess was a member of the Libertarian Party and editor of its newspaper.

Hat tip to JustLive, a source for self-sufficient anarchist self-liberation.

Historically the anarchists were the tip of the Communist spear — terrorists, spies, thugs, pamphleteers, community organizers. The stupid dupes who did the dirty work of destabilization so that the workers’ revolution could enslave the workers, and everybody else. But the Lefty worldview is a strange thing. Now that the bureaucrats have total control, some disillusioned anarchists are calling themselves libertarians and yearning for less government and more freedom.

We usually dismiss anarchists as mindless Commie ideologues, and libertarians as Enlightenment dupes who put “liberty” as the first word in their slogan even though eliminating liberty is the goal of Enlightenment. Nothing good can come out of that radical secular worldview. In fact Hess is denying the history of the anarchist movement. Emma Goldman was a Communist who became disillusioned with Lenin too late. Notice the mouth on that bitch in the drawing at the opening of the video. Cold, heartless. An icon for today’s feminists.

None of these lefties is heroic in any sense. All of them were anti-social. All of them were involved in setting up the socialist takeover. They were true believers, and they got used.

But today we are in the New World Order, not making it, and the disillusioned lefties are crowding into breadlines and drug rehab clinics and, of course, constantly complaining that the workers’ paradise never materializes. Our town is full of these lost losers. We recognize the mental illnesses, the pathological narcissism that got them into their mess. Their fallback position is to whine and demand more socialism, not to seek freedom from the bad ideas they have supported.

Notice that Hess acknowledges various hyphenated forms of anarchism that contradict the impulse to freedom he is talking about. That is because there really is no “core” of anarchist theory that promotes “freedom.” Hess just got tired of the bullshit without changing his worldview and finding his way out of the network. He probably didn’t want to reject all his friends even though it is obvious he went through some sobering changes. Changing worldviews can be very difficult for some people.

We’re adding nonideological anarchist to our garden of forking paths, just for today, because of this video. It actually has the smell of freedom about it. This statement might address the condition of lost Lefties who have become a little bit wise through their own failures. There may be a personality type that longs for freedom, we don’t know. We’ve never met a good liberal, but some of them may eventually realize that freedom isn’t going to occur by building bureaucracies, issuing regulations, changing everyone’s language, and saving the planet’s natural resources for the rich exploiters.

Fighting socialism is noble, but it’s tiring. Eventually you will have to get that whiff of freedom in your lungs and make your own arrangements.

This does not mean we are going to waste more time at anarchist and libertarian websites looking for some purified, filtered, reasoned, uncorrupt anarcho-libertarianism. But for those who find themselves sliding down the economic ladder and a little disillusioned with politicians’ promises or proposals for reform, today’s video can put the air of freedom in your lungs, and maybe give you a little courage to find some breathing room. We can’t expect anarchists to become social beings committed to the good, but we can encourage them to return to the human race and abandon their false ideas. What recipe do you have for finding your freedom in the age of degenerate socialism?
