Green is ugly

Britain has its own Climate Change Secretary, Ed Millband. Britain also has its own Climate Change Act. The price of combating “climate change”? 20,000 British pounds per family. The Mail accuses Millband of massaging the government spending statistics secretly to mask the increased spending, which is now over 400 billion pounds. You didn’t think that combating “climate change” was going to be an open and honest project, did you?

“Hectoring people and ordering them what to think sums up the whole attitude of this Labour government to the people it was elected to serve.”

The Mail also reports on local outrage over proposed wind farms. Wind farms are going to require construction of overhead wiring grids to transfer the energy. Constructing eyesores is the best the enviro nature-lovers can come up with? Notice that the whole program is a top-down control program without local input. Oh well, the Greens never believed in democracy anyway.

The American Prospect has a report on ugly green building trends and some debate among architects on baroque postmodern vs. ugly green.

One thing you can say for sure about the Green movement, it’s poorly thought out. Green environmentalism attracts the classic liberal sociopath, given to sudden enthusiasms and forcing them on others.
