China drilling in Iraq

Iraq has signed a contract with Communist China’s National Petroleum Corporation for development of its oilfields. See the story at APakistanNews.com and Reutersuk. What does this mean? That George Bush’s belief that Iraq would compensate the U.S. in oil for the cost of the war was false. Iraq now appears confident enough to disengage from U.S. influence. China has always played a two-pronged cooperative/subversive policy line against the United States. Will the Obama administration represent U.S. economic interests in Iraq? Apparently not. How many U.S. soldiers died so that Communist China could manage Iraq’s oilfield development?
