Bush-Blair memo details plans to provoke Iraq war

The Guardian is releasing sensational details of a memo from the office of Prime Minister Tony Blair indicating that both Blair and President Bush realized no WMDs would be found in Iraq, thus they needed another strategy to provoke war. The document was written by Blair’s foreign policy adviser and is coming to light as part of a British investigation into Britain’s entry into the Iraq war. The bottom line: Bush and Blair were determined to go to war regardless of any diplomatic outcomes and without UN authorization. This memo doesn’t tell us why Bush and Blair wanted to invade Iraq, but it does confirm that they were willing to use deception to do so.
