Behind the “smart grid” stimulus subsidy
RFD America exposes the hidden agenda behind the “smart grid.” Smart grid is being sold to Americans as a way to make electricity transmissions more efficient. Local producers of electricity, including owners of fuel cells, are supposed to be compensated for selling their electricity to “the grid.” Sounds good, no? No. The real purpose of the stimulus funding for smart grid is to enable RFID chip tracking of all items in your house through a system of smart sensors placed in your home. Smart grid will track what’s in your refrigerator, what temperature your thermostat is set to, how many people are in your house, whether you smoke, etc. etc. What’s in your closet? The government wants to know. IBM and GE will help them find out.
